Oh, shoot!

That night, lights off was at 10.30p.m. It was 10.53p.m. We turned off all the lights already, and were lying in bed. However, instead off sleeping,we chatted about school and such. Funny events that happened that day, embarrasing moments... etc. We slept peacefully that night, knowing that the phone would give us a wake up call the next day... Or so I thought.

RING! It rang. Crystal, once again, was the first one to wake up. This time, however, she noticed that it was 7.15a.m.

" Wait," she thought, sleepily," aren't we supposed to gather at 7.30am?" She started placing the pieces together. "Oh, SHOOT!"

She instantly woke us both up, while yelling "We're late! We're late!"

I grunted. "Five more minutes..."

She sighed, "Em, wake up, now!"

I grunted again, but got up, and noticed the time. "Oh, SHOOT!" I shouted.

Claire, who was already tying up her hair, said the famous phrase again. "Oh, SHOOT! We're late!!!"

We hurriedly changed and combed our hair. We barely had time to even grab out coats! We arrived in the lobby at 7.35a.m. Everyone in the lobby was grumbling about the wake up call.

Don't sleep on the floor please...

This time, I didn't let Crystal sleep on the floor. I didn't think that she'd sleep right. So, in the end, we ALL slept in the "king's room". We slept in a horizontal way, so that we'd have more space. Almost all the girls going to Perth slept this way- they were also scared to sleep alone! The only difference is that they slept vertically.

It's actually quite comfortable...

So, this is the place...

For dinner, everyone was supposed to eat at the restaurant, you know? The one we were supposed to go yesterday? That's the one. It's not bad, but honestly, everyone prefered the "Singapore Version"....

Spending spree!!!

We then went to Fremantle Weekend Market to buy gifts and such. We were given roughly and hour to shop. We thought that we truly lived by the saying 'shop till we drop'! We felt so tired after shopping that we just wanted to sleep! However, we went to WoolsWorth (once again, if you read our other posts) because the others (the chinese, like Claire and Crystal) haven't been there. The girls of room 408 (us), 506 (Natalie, Iffah,Zhi Shu) and 507 (Celest, Elisa, Camellia) including our teacher, Ms.Wun were planning a "gathering" at our room at 9pm. This resulted in buying A LOT of things at WoolsWorth. We bought instant noodles (halal), gumballs,Pepsi, chewing gum and bubble gum. It was going to be a Gumball party - I mean, gathering! We had so much fun!

Speaking of them, why don't you visit their blog?

Attack!!!!!

So, after visiting Rockingham Regional Environment Centre, we worked up quite an appetite. Our driver, Mark, brought us to the Cincerllo's seafood restaurant for a lunch of fish 'n' chips with coke. We had a *VIP* area for us: a boat! However, it was anchored so it wasn't moving. Still, you could feel the boat swaying from side to side.

Say fish 'n' Chips!
Posing for pictures while waiting for food to come...

and more...

And more!

Finally, after what seemed like forever, our food came!!! It looked so delicious! It had a golden-yellow coloured fish fillet with crispy french fries at the side. Take a look!

Yummmm......

Now, you might be wondering why I named this post "attack!!!". It is not because I was trying to attract your attention, or because we are "attacking" the food. It is because of these creatures: Seagulls!

You had to be careful or they would swoop down and grab a fry. It's true! It happened to one of us!

That evil little bird!!!

You can see their footprints on the canvas of the boat!

Environment Centre... part 2...

After, we met up again (group A,B,C and D) and painted bags, which were made out of recycled materials.
Here are some photos:
Wow, Elisa is concentrating so hard!

Painting our bags...
Ms.Wun, what a pretty painting!

Leaving our masterpieces out to dry

Painting some more...
Poor Mr.Hairil, no space on the table?

After finishing our paintings (finally), we went on a shopping spree nearby!

Lai, lai! 10% discount!!!

Environment Centre... part 1!

Worms
After breakfast, we headed down to the Rockingham Regional Environment Centre. After a briefing, we split into two (A and C/ B and D) Group A and D ( which Crystal, Claire And I are in) headed for a walk in the garden. Our guide there, showed us a big  can of garbage and said that there are alot of worms in it which will eat up the garbage, to create compost. Some of us were brave enough to touch it while others backed away. Seems like worms have a big appetite!

Smelly....

The worm likes jumping about!

Herbivores for a day!
Then, she took us for a tour around the place. Because it was still early spring, the flowers haven't fully bloomed. But, there were a few flowers here and there which looked really pretty.

Here are some of the things we saw during the tour!
A little green bug on Ms.Isda's finger!

Beautiful Lavenders!

Compost...smelly...

Pretty trees...

Walking along a trail...

Then, the guide showed us a plant. It was lite green and very soft. She said that you could eat it and it is quite salty. Many people looked uncertain, but nevertheless tried it. It was very yummy! It was slightly salty, which is why it is called the saltbush (or something like that...)

Many tasted it!

Claire, tried it uncertainly...
Shakira, nibbling away!

She showed us another plant, some kind of spinach, and we tasted it too. It was quite good, but personally, i thought the other leaf was better...

When we came back from the tour, we met another guide, who surprisingly, has lived in Singapore before, for a couple of years! She then showed us Bobby and Bubbles, a few animals that live in Australia. She even showed us a snake! We were allowed to touch them.

Everyone stroking the animal while Gladys takes a picture of the... window?

Err, am I supposed to eat this?

When we finally settled down in the Lobby, we headed for the Aroma Cafe. Everyone hastily grabbed a seat with their friends.

The Aroma Cafe

The waiters served us a bowl of muesli, yogurt and fruit. Some were picking at it, wondering if it was some kind of rabbit's food. I overheard someone saying "Err, am I supposed to eat this?". Personally, I thought it was quite yummy. After, we ate sandwiches, i think. So, the Muslims had to eat vegetarian :-(.  We also had a choice of hot chocolate or orange juice.

Ring,ring.... Hello?

Day 2:
So, we were all sleeping peacefully, enjoying the warmth of the heater, when... RING! the phone rang. Crystal was the first to hear it and dashed to the king's room to pick up the phone. "Hello? Hello,"she said, "anyone there?" ahe asked sleepily, yawning. She then realised that it was a wake up call and of course, woke us up.

We thought we were late and quickly changed, brushed our teeth and tied up our hair. By the time we were ready (as you know, girls take a very long time,) it was almost 7.30am! Claire quickly grabbed the keys before Crystal closed the door. She tried opening it, just in case it wasn't locked, but it opened! The door wouldn't lock! But then, we heard a shuffle of footsteps. It was Sean Keat, Keith and Jing Zhi. We must have looked so pathetic! They told us to lock the door from inside. It worked!

As we went into the lift, they told us that they woke up because of a prank call..... We laughed.

 "Ring,ring... Hello?"

Very scary.....

I remembered that there was two rooms, one with two single beds and another, with one king (or queen?) sized bed.

TV... wait, are those instant noodles???
Two single beds

I asked " Claire, do you want to sleep in the "king's room"? I don't want to, i'm scared to sleep there alone..."

She then replied, "Err, no... very scary..."

And then, Crystal said, " you guys are such sissies, I'll sleep there!" and we all laughed.

Yet, at night, she dragged the blanket of her bed to our room (with our help) and slept on the carpeted floor.

"Ah," she said, "i love sleeping on the floor!"

Amazing Race!

After unpacking, we were all to gather at the lobby. Then, we split up, the Chinese were going to eat at a Chinese Restaurant while the Malays were *ahem* supposed to eat at a malay restaurant, including the teachers. So, as we said goodbye, we then went to, or at least TRIED to go to the restaurant. Our "expert navigator", Mr.Hairil, (who is also my maths teacher) lead us around, and around, and around.... and said      " Where are we?". So... we were lost, hungry and wet (it was raining). Yay. But then Ms.Isda said "Yay! I love getting lost! Its fun, like amazing race.". So in the end, we settled for a halal japanese... er, place. It was quite yummy.

Enjoying our food! I think...

After we ate,we headed for WoolsWorth, some kind of supermarket, as there was still time. Guess what we bought? Gumballs galore!!!!!! The Chinese watched us enviously as we chewed loudly.

Airplanes, Freezers, Epic-fails and a Beautiful country.

On the 2nd September, my 35 friends, four teachers and I headed for Australia for an immersion trip. After four days, when we head back to Singapore, we were to write up a blog on our amazing trip. Well, this is ours. (Emylia, Crystal and Claire from team Alpha)

Say cheese....

Airplanes

The beautiful clouds.

All of us were in the plane, waiting for take-off. It was going to be the first time I was on one, so I was pretty excited. My friend, Crystal Peh, who was sitting next to me in the plane, told me that the starting off the plane ride was really annoying. She said that you would feel "deaf " in the ear. At first, I had no clue what she was talking about, but I could see her point when we took off! But, once we were in the air, it was all going smoothly. I got the window seat (yay!) so I could see the clouds. It was such a breath-taking view.

Freezers
When we landed, we had to go through security, which involves putting our bags on the floor and letting a dog sniff it for any illegal stuff. It was pretty scary because I'm a muslim and not allowed to touch dogs. We weren't allowed to take an pictures there. The moment we walked out of the airport, it felt as if we went in a freezer! The temperature is so different from Singapore! I was surprised to see some Aussies wearing short sleeved shirts and shorts! I then realised that they were already used to the temperature.

  A Beautiful Country

We left our luggage in the coach and headed for King's Park. It was so beautiful. Most of the plants there had small plaques about them. There is also a memorial, which had the names of all soldiers during the first and second world wars. We walked around the park, marvelling at the flowers and trees. Australia is a beautiful country.

Epic-Fail!

There, we went into the coach to head for The New Esplanade Hotel. As we carried our luggage in, we saw one of the boys walking straight into the glass door! It was so hilarious, everyone laughed. The boy then turned bright red and walked in. Iffah said to me," Gosh, that was such an epic-fail!!!

We were allowed to go to our room to relax, and unpack a little.
